Goizueta Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center Featured in Global GNPC Proteomics Data Challenge

The Goizueta Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (GADRC), part of the Goizueta Brain Health Institute, is proud to announce its participation in the Global Neurodegeneration Proteomics Consortium (GNPC) Data Challenge, now officially open to researchers worldwide.

Hosted by the Alzheimer’s Disease Data Initiative, this international challenge invites scientists to explore the GNPC HDS V1 dataset—the largest proteomics dataset available for neurodegenerative diseases. The challenge aims to accelerate breakthroughs in Alzheimer’s research through open science and data-driven collaboration.

In addition to GNPC HDS V1, participants may access and analyze other high-impact datasets, including Bio-Hermes-001, Answer ALS, Emory Goizueta ADRC, KU ADRC, and MCSA, all hosted on the AD Workbench platform.

Challenge Details:

  • Submission Deadline: January 15, 2026 (no registration required)
  • Prizes: $10,000 and $5,000 awarded to the top two entries per research question, plus publishing fees
  • Judging Criteria: Scientific significance, innovation, and responsiveness to the research question
  • Submission Requirements: 200-word abstract, 2-page methods/results summary, and AD Workbench workspace details

Researchers may respond to one of six priority questions or propose their own by November 1, 2025.

“This initiative exemplifies the power of open science in driving progress toward Alzheimer’s solutions,” said Dr. Allan Levey, Executive Director of the Goizueta Brain Health Institute. “We strongly encourage our research community and partners to participate and share this opportunity widely.”
